I think it’s safe to say that Alex Hormozi is one of the most influential businesspeople out there. He’s the founder and CEO of Acquisitions.com, and he’s a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars, and his advice has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur and other publications.
Today I will be focusing on one of his latest quotes:
“For anyone who needs it. And I’m not saying you shouldn’t go home. I’m saying you should do what YOU want. No one else. You can’t claim to be your own person if you still need daddy and mommy’s approval for your actions. Sack up/gonad up and stop being your parents b*tch.”
As a roofing CEO, this quote resonates with me in several ways. As a CEO of any company, but especially in the roofing industry, you have to have an independent spirit and make decisions based on what is best for the company in the long run instead of seeking approval from others. Too often we get bogged down by competition or trying to please someone else – it doesn't do any good for our business or our customers. At the end of the day, as a roofing CEO especially, you have to make tough decisions that may not always be popular — if not with family members as well as customers, coworkers or even competitors — but if those decisions are made for diplomatic reasons instead of doing what is right for your business, then you will always be second-guessing yourself and lose your focus down the line — neither of which is good for business growth or customer satisfaction. I also like this quote because it speaks to taking ownership for our own choices — something that too often CEOs forget about when dealing with external pressures from other entities or stakeholders who might expect something from us that isn't necessarily beneficial for our company's goals and success factors in the long run.
As CEO's we sometimes tend to blame external factors such as lack of resources or personnel or even industry trends when things don't go according to plan; while these are valid excuses to an extent, at some point it's important to take responsibility as well so we don't lose out on learning opportunities along the way that could potentially cause us more harm than good in the future. Overall I think this quote holds true regardless of industry; if you're running a business then having an entrepreneurial spirit is essential in order to succeed long-term. Being independent and self-sufficient makes all the difference between those who succeed and those who fail because it eliminates excessive dependence on outside forces which can sometimes lead down a slippery slope towards impulsive decision making that may not be beneficial for your company's bottom line growth objectives over time.
I'm sure many entrepreneurs would agree that Alex Hormozi has earned his place as one of today's most respected thought leaders; after all he has been providing invaluable advice ever since he set out on his entrepreneurial journey over 10 years ago! His latest quote speaks volumes about how important it is for CEOs - especially ones in roofing - to stay focused on decision making without outside influence so they can make smart choices without sacrificing quality when needed!
